Undefeated Oregon held steady at CFP No. 1 for the fifth week after hammering unranked rival Washington 49-21 in Week 14 — Oregon opens the postseason against No. 3 Penn State (11-1, 8-1 B1G) in Indianapolis on Dec. 7 — the teams’ first meeting since Oregon’s 1994 Pac-10 Champion squad faced Penn State in the Rose Bowl 30 years ago.
Previous No. 2 Ohio State dropped four spots after losing 13-10 at home to unranked rival Michigan — their second loss after Oregon won heads-up over the visiting Buckeyes, 32-31 in Week 7.
Texas leads the SEC, taking Ohio State’s place at CFP No. 2.

Oregon is CFP No. 1 for the fifth week — four of the five CFP-ranked Big Ten teams are in the top 12 spots.
Behind No. 1 Oregon, CFP-ranked B1G teams include No. 3 Penn State, No. 6 Ohio State (down six after losing to Michigan), No. 9 Indiana (up one), and No. 21 Illinois (up two).
Big 12: 4 ranked, none in top 12
The Big 12 dropped back to four CFP-ranked teams with none in the top 12 for the third week.
CFP No. 15 Arizona State (up one spot) is followed by No. 16 Iowa State (up two spots), No. 18 BYU (up one spot), No. 23 Colorado (up two spots).
SEC: 7 ranked, 4 in top 12
Led by CFP No. 2 Texas, the SEC is back up to four teams in the top 12 spots, including No. 5 Georgia (up two spots), No. 7 Tennessee (up one spot), No. 11 Alabama (up two spots).
Also representing the SEC in the playoff rankings are No. 13 Ole Miss (up one), No. 14 South Carolina (up one), No. 19 Missouri (up two).

Other teams in reach of the top 12 spots of the CFP rankings are No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 10 Boise State.
