PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon QB1 Dillon Gabriel is the 2024 B1G Offensive Player of the Year and Big Ten Quarterback of the Year.
Gabriel is Oregon’s sixth QB to earn conference Player of the Year, and the second in a row after Bo Nix in the Pac-12 in 2023. Previous Oregon conference PotY QBs were Marcus Mariota (2014), Dennis Dixon (2007), Joey Harrington (2001), and Akili Smith (1998).
"Just goes to show the environment I'm and the people I'm around, I'm a huge product of that,” Gabriel said, on BTN's B1G Today show. "No great throws without a great block up front and a great catch down the field.”
Gabriel is No. 2 nationally in completion percentage (73.5), 10th in pass yards (3,275), tied for 12th in total touchdowns (31), 13th in total yards (3,450) and tied for 18th in passing touchdowns (24).
Gabriel is now the NCAA all-time leader in total touchdowns (183), second all-time in career total yards (19,375), passing touchdowns (149), and pass yards (18,140).
"We're on one of the most unselfish teams I've ever been on. We take pride in that. We take pride in being a connected team,” Gabriel said.
Against Washington in Week 14, Gabriel matched Nix for most starts by a QB in FBS history (61) — that record will fall in the Big Ten Championship Game.
"I think patience is hard for a lot of people but I'm a product of patience,” Gabriel said of his six-year college football career.
Gabriel also earned All-B1G first-team honors, joined on the first team by O-Lineman Josh Conerly Jr.

RB Jordan James led five Oregon players earning All-B1G second-team honors, including LB Bryce Boettcher, WR ‘Touchdown Tez’ Johnson, OLB Matayo Uiagalelei, and Long Snapper Luke Basso.
