PORTLAND, Ore. — Conference Championship week brings Oregon’s second 12-0 start in school history (previously in 2010 when the Ducks advanced to the BCS title game).
Undefeated Oregon held steady at CFP No. 1 for the fifth week after hammering unranked rival Washington 49-21 in Week 14.
The Ducks are the first non-SEC team at AP No. 1 this season (previously Texas, Alabama, and Georgia).
Oregon opens the postseason against Big Ten rival Penn State (11-1, 8-1 B1G) in Indianapolis on Dec. 7 — the teams’ first meeting since Oregon’s 1994 Pac-10 Champion squad faced Penn State in the Rose Bowl 30 years ago.
